Meditation may be one of the first spiritual techniques we learn and one of the most valuable. By calming our thoughts, meditation can help us become centered and balanced and experience a sense of wholeness.

The word "meditation" comes from the Proto-Indo-European root meaning "contemplation; devout preoccupation; private devotions, prayer." This root is derived from the Proto-Indo-European root meaning "take appropriate measures." Through this understanding, we may see that Meditation is the process of using timely foresight to appropriately handle our issues before they begin by going within and finding our center.
