the lion has roared /J.D. Vance Speech German - Vance speaks of a threatened freedom of expression in Europe, February 14, 2025
J. D. Vance speaks in his speech of a "threatened freedom of expression in Europe" - and ruthlessly puts his finger on the sore spot of European democracies.

The speech by US Vice President J. D. Vance at the Munich Security Conference was eagerly awaited today on February 14, 2025. Not only because it was the very first important speech by a representative of the new Trump administration on European soil, but also because the speech was formulated so unambiguously and clearly that it "read the mass" to the European governments, so to speak. The conclusion is also remarkable: With the sentence "God bless you," Vance struck an unusually personal tone. The speech thus has a signal character far beyond this brief moment in Munich.
