My old friend Tim stopped by the studio the other day for a quick chat that went on for two hours. I didn’t know what we were going to discuss, and neither did he. Which is probably why we discussed, in no particular order, the importance of philosophy, redemption, mothers, quantum physics, skilled labor, The Book of Job, Schrodinger’s cat, the surprising appeal of ballet, a sense of humor, and sense of irony, a sense of wonder, his time in jail, his new TV show on ABC, and the end of the world as we know it. Not exactly what you’d expect from America’s Dad, but on the other hand, precisely what you’d hope to hear from a genuinely curious and extremely thoughtful man who has been there and done that a hundred times over.
