2nd Corinthians 12 has Paul's testimony of having been allowed into the third heaven, into heaven where he he heard and saw things that were unlawful for man to speak of. He said it was fourteen years before when he wrote this letter, which would probably have been when he had been stoned to death in Lystra during his first missionary journey. God raised him from the dead and he ministered for many years after that.
Then Paul reveals to us that in order for him to not become proud over the experience, God allowed him to receive a "thorn" in the flesh from satan to keep him humble. Paul asked God three times to remove it, but God said no, that His grace was sufficient for Paul. So Paul accepted God's answer and serves as a great example for us to be content with the answers God gives to our prayers.
Paul went on to tell them how he loved them and was willing to be spent for their spiritual well being, and that he would be coming to see them again.
