India beat Bangladesh by 6 wickets in the 2nd match of CT-25. Shubman Gill POTM.

The 2nd Match of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was played between India and Bangladesh at Dubai International Cricket Stadium Dubai on 20thth February, 2025. In this match India defeated Bangladesh by 6 wickets. In this match Bangladesh Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and opted to bat first.
Bangladesh while batting first scored paltry score of 228 runs all out in their allotted 50 overs and gave target of 229 runs to Bangladesh to win. In reply India scored 231 runs for 4 wickets in 46.3 overs and won the match by 6 wickets.
Bangladesh started very poorly and were 35 for 5 wickets in 8.3 overs. They first lost the wicket of Soumya Sarkar at the score of 1 run caught by KL Rahul of the bowling of come back man Mohammed Shami after making zero runs. Immediately after Harshit Rana removed Najmul Hossain Shanto caught by Virat Kohli at score of 2 runs only and he also went back to pavilion without scoring. Mehidy Hasan Miraz was third to go out caught by Shubman Gill of the bowling of Mohammed Shami after scoring 5 runs only.
Then Axar Patel removed well settled Tanzid Hasan on the second ball of his first over at the score of 35 runs and he contributed 25 runs.Then on third ball he took the wicket of Mushfiqur Rehim caugt by KL Rahul. Axar Patel missed the hat trick since Rohit Sharma dropped the lolly pop catch of Jaker Ali and Axar Patel missed the hat trick.
Then Towhid Hirdoy and Jaker Ali added 154 runs for the 6th wicket and consolidated Bangladesh innings.Jaker Ali scored 68 runs and was taken by Mohammed Shami caught by Virat kohli.
Towhid Hirdoy was out in the last over of the innings after scoring magnificient 100 runs from 118 balls hitting 6 fours and 2 sixes.
Rishad Hossain made 18 runs runs and Mustafizur Rahman remaind not out on zero. Bangladesh were all out on 228 runs.
Comeback man Mohammed Shami bowled superbly and took 5 wickets.Harhit Rana took three wickets and Axar Patel took 2 wickets.
India while Chasing target of 229 runs to win started superbly and added 69 runs from 9.5 overs for the first wicket.Rohit Sharma was first to get out after scoring quick fire 41 runs from 36 balls hitting 7 fours.
Virat kohli was cheaply out making 22 runs, Shreyas Aiyer also got out early making 15 runs. India lost the 4th wicket of Axar Patel at the score of 144 runs and were in trouble.Axar Patel could score only 8 runs.
Then Shubman Gill with KL Rahul added unbeaten 87 runs for the 5th wicket and won the match for India. Shubman Gill scored his 8th century 101 runs not out from 129 balls hitting 9 fours and 2 sixes. KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 41 runs from 49 balls hitting 1 four and 2 sixes.
Rishad Hossain took 2 wickets and one wicket each went to Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman.
India made 231 runs for 4 wickets and won the match by 6 wickets. Shubman Gill was named the Player of the Match.
