Awaken Biblical Audio Commentary – The Prism of Faith

To anyone who has read or listened to my Commentaries for any length of time, you know that I hold a very high view of God and His promises. To that end, the Lord chose the pagan Abram out of Ur and very specially called him to His purposes. What were those purposes? They were for Abram as Abraham to father many descendants so that they would become God’s Chosen People, and they would do so in the Promised Land of Canaan that would later be named Israel.

We see in the Bible – God’s Holy Word – that He repeated these promises to the Hebrews time after time. Although the Jewish people had stiff necks and were incredibly unfaithful to Yahweh over the years – even to the point of rejecting His Son Jesus Christ as their Messiah, never once did God say that His promises were null and void. What God did say was that if His people Israel were disobedient in the various ways He outlined, then they would suffer consequences. The Lord vowed this would happen and it did. He removed His hand of blessing upon the Jews and allowed them to be uprooted out of the land several times. However, of critical importance is that God also said He would restore them to the land and once more they would become His blessed children.
