David Baron Stevens - Sabrina (Bakersfield Jazz Festival 2010)

Performed LIVE at the Bakersfield Jazz Festival, in Bakersfield California, on 10 May, 2010

"Sabrina" was written for a woman I once loved. We had a chance to explore those feelings, but external forces got in the way and it didn't work out.

In another place or time, maybe things would've been different, so this song is dedicated to all those of you who have memories of the lips never kissed.

This performance features AMAZING solos by the late, great Andre Bush (Guitar Player Magazine's "Guitar Player of The Year" 2005) on guitar and Bakersfield's own Dennis Hamm on Piano (of the Thundercat band).

I'd just received the brand new Unison Saxophone's S300II Artist Model designed for me, and was still learning how to control this cannon, so the high E during my solo was a bit off...until I squeezed it out HAHA!

Many thanks to Doug Davis for giving me this opportunity to share my compositions with the world.
