Opening Monologue for Tuesday, February 18, 2025 – WCRN 830 AM

Good afternoon, New England, and welcome to the show! It is Tuesday, February 18th, 2025, and we are now nearly a month into the second Trump administration. A landslide victory—a political earthquake, really—has reshaped the landscape, sent the Left into a tailspin, and given us the chance to set this country back on the path of constitutional governance, law and order, and good old-fashioned common sense.

And yet, despite the clear voice of the American people, the same old media spin machine is still cranking at full speed, still twisting history, still peddling their nonsense as though nothing has changed. But folks, things have changed. The people have spoken, and the days of the radical Left dictating what we can say, what we can think, and how we can live—those days are numbered.

Let’s start with the biggest absurdity of the week—CBS’s Margaret Brennan, who just made one of the most embarrassingly ignorant claims in recent memory. According to her, free speech was "weaponized" in Germany and led to the Holocaust. Think about that for a second. According to her, Hitler's rise wasn’t because of government overreach, censorship, or the crushing of opposition—no, it was free speech! That’s like saying oxygen caused World War II because, well, Hitler was breathing at the time.

Reality check: The Weimar Republic—the government in place before the Nazis—had some of the most aggressive hate speech laws in history. Hitler was banned from speaking. His party was prosecuted over 200 times for their speech. And yet, those laws didn’t stop the Nazis. If anything, they gave Hitler and his followers the perfect narrative to claim they were being oppressed by the government. The lesson here is clear: Censorship does not stop radicalism—it fuels it. And yet today, the Left still pushes the same lie that "hate speech" must be banned to prevent violence, when in reality, it’s government suppression that has always been the tool of tyrants.

And speaking of tyranny, let’s talk about Europe. Once again, we are watching the same pathetic display from the EU—weakness masquerading as righteousness. Trump was right to call them out years ago, and now, in his second term, he's making it clear: The United States is not going to be Europe's military babysitter. If they want security, they need to stop with the virtue signaling and start defending themselves.

The European Left, much like the one here in the U.S., has spent decades demonizing strong national defense while rolling out the red carpet for mass migration, crime, and chaos. Now, they find themselves without a spine, unable to handle a crisis unless America steps in. Well, the American people have had enough. Trump’s America First policies are back, and that means an end to writing blank checks for nations that refuse to step up.

But let’s bring this back home. Over the last four years, we’ve seen what happens when radical Leftists run the show. Cities in decay. Crime out of control. Censorship, propaganda, and government collusion with Big Tech to silence dissent. They spent years trying to destroy Trump and anyone who supported him, weaponizing the FBI, the DOJ, the IRS—heck, even school boards—to go after political opponents.

And where did it get them? A landslide loss in 2024. Because the American people see through it. They’re tired of the lies, tired of the government telling them what they can say, what they can do, and what they can believe.

Now, here’s the challenge moving forward. We won—big. But winning an election isn’t enough. If we don’t stay engaged, if we don’t hold politicians accountable, if we let our foot off the gas, then the same forces that worked so hard to steal our freedoms will be right back at it. We must fight for free speech, for real law and order, for American sovereignty. Because if we don’t, the people who pushed mask mandates, vaccine passports, censorship, and "misinformation" crackdowns are still waiting in the wings, ready to take it all back.

And let’s be honest, they aren’t going down quietly. Just look at what’s happening in the media. They are doubling down, pushing nonsense narratives, gaslighting the country—because they know that if people wake up and reject their control, their whole racket is over.

So, folks, this is our moment. We have a president in office who actually listens to you, the people. But he can’t do it alone. This fight isn’t over. This is just the beginning of reclaiming America.
