Tennessee serial killer who referred to himself as Michael Myers gets 261 years

Throughout his 2024 trial, Joshua Dotson 'shocked the court by testifying in his own defense, referring to himself as a serial killer and likening himself to the fictional murderer Michael Myers.'

A self-professed killer who confessed to three murders after being convicted of killing his pregnant girlfriend and her unborn baby in 2020 has been sentenced to 261 years in prison, West Tennessee prosecutors said.

Joshua Dotson, 25, pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree murder, for the slayings of Divieon Parker, Renita Bennett and Reginald Anderson, according to Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy, who released a statement Friday after a hearing in Shelby County Circuit Court.
