The SB25-003 Update: What You NEED To Know

Here are the latest happenings with Colorado Senate Bill 25-003. In the latest turn of events the bill had a few amendments added changing the language and outcome of the laws surrounding it. The most significant being L.041, the "license to buy" amendment, introduced by bill sponsor Julie Gonzales (D). It creates a Colorado Firearms Safety Course Eligibility Card that individuals can obtain by jumping through the government's new hoops, and only then will they be able to purchase the banned guns for 5 years with renewal required every 5 years. If you're familiar with the Illinois FOID Card, this is very similar. The bill will be back in the Senate on Tuesday Feb. 18th for another round of readings and a final vote before it moves on to the House.
