Reading of the 1535 Coverdale Bible - Day 47 of 365 (Numbers 7) Season 3 - "A Generous Offering: The Dedication of the Tabernacle"

In tonight's reading, we witness the culmination of a sacred task and a lavish display of generosity.

Numbers Chapter 7

Moses, having completed the construction, anointing, and sanctification of the Tabernacle, the altar, and all its vessels, then the leaders of Israel, representing each tribe, come forward. They are the captains of the tribes, the ones who oversaw the census of the people. They bring forth their offerings to the Lord. These gifts are presented in the form of covered wagons and oxen: six wagons and twelve oxen, with each two leaders gifting a wagon and each leader providing an ox, to be brought before the Tabernacle. They offer these gifts for the service of the Tabernacle. This is not a one-time offering, though! Day after day, the offerings continue, each leader presenting their gifts according to a set order. The detailed offerings are presented day by day, spanning twelve days. The offerings are given to the Levites, and the Tabernacle is then dedicated.
