What Makes Us Clean

In this first passage, Jesus challenges the religious leaders focus on outward rituals, teaching that true defilement comes from within - our hearts, thoughts, and actions. He calls us to examine what we allow to take root in our hearts and to pursue purity from the inside out. Later, in Mark 7, we see Jesus’ compassion and power as He heals a deaf man with a speech impediment. With a simple touch “Be opened”, Jesus restores him completely. This miracle not only reveals Christ’s authority but also points to His desire to heal and transform our lives - physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
