Prayer for the President of the United States
BY LOUDMOUTH PRAYER
Heavenly Father,
I come before You today in the name of Jesus, standing in agreement with Your
Word and lifting up the President of the United States. Your Word instructs us in
1 Timothy 2:1-2 to pray for kings and all who are in authority so that we may lead
quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness and honesty. Lord, I take this command
seriously and intercede on behalf of our nation’s leader. I pray that Your divine
wisdom, spiritual understanding, and godly counsel will rest upon him as he
governs this land.
Father, in James 1:5, You promised that if anyone lacks wisdom, they should ask
of You, and You will give it liberally and without reproach. I ask that You pour out
Your divine wisdom upon the President in great measure. Let him seek Your
guidance in every decision he makes and give him the discernment to know what
is right. Let him not be swayed by human reasoning, political pressure, or the
opinions of man, but instead, let him seek and follow the wisdom that comes
from You alone.
Lord, as Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs, may the President trust in You with all his heart
and lean not on his own understanding. May he acknowledge You in all his ways
so that You may direct his paths. This nation does not need the wisdom of the
world; it needs divine wisdom from above. I pray that he will not rely on personal
intellect or political strategies but will instead look to You, the only wise God, for
guidance and instruction in every matter of governance.
I pray that Isaiah 11:2 will be manifested in his life—that the Spirit of the Lord will
rest upon him. Let him be filled with the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the
Spirit of counsel and might, and the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.
May he fear You above all else, knowing that his position is not merely one of
earthly authority but one of divine stewardship. Let his heart be humbled before
You so that he leads with justice and righteousness.
As Psalm 32:8 declares, Father, instruct him and teach him in the way he should
go. Guide him with Your eye upon him. I pray that he will not make decisions
based on external pressures but will be sensitive to your leading. When difficult
choices arise, let him pause and seek Your face. Surround him with godly
counselors who will speak truth into his life and remove any voices of deception
or ungodliness from his circle of influence.
Lord, You are the source of all wisdom and understanding. As 1 Corinthians
2:12-13 says, we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is
from You, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by
You. I pray that the President will be led by the Holy Spirit and not by the wisdom
of man. May he have the discernment to reject every idea and policy that is
contrary to Your will and the boldness to stand for righteousness even in the face
of opposition.
Father, I pray for divine protection over the President and his family. As Psalm 91
declares, let him dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide under the
shadow of the Almighty. Keep him safe from harm, danger, and any plots of the
enemy. No weapon formed against him shall prosper, and every tongue that rises
against him in judgment shall be condemned. Place a hedge of protection around
him and shield him from any attacks—physical, spiritual, or political.
Lord, I pray that he will be a leader of integrity and honesty. Let him walk in
righteousness and truth, never compromising for the sake of political gain. As
Proverbs 4:7 says, wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, give him wisdom in
abundance, and with all his wisdom, give him understanding. Let his leadership
reflect Your justice and fairness, and may his decisions promote peace, unity,
and the well-being of the people.
I also pray for his heart, Lord. Let his heart be soft before You, willing to listen
and obey. Remove pride, arrogance, and stubbornness from his spirit, and
replace it with humility, meekness, and a heart of service. Let him not be driven
by power or ambition, but by a genuine desire to serve the people of this nation
according to Your will.
Father, You control the rise and fall of nations. Daniel 2:21 reminds us that You
change times and seasons, You remove kings and set up kings, and You give
wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. I
acknowledge that it is by Your hand that leaders are placed in positions of power,
and I pray that the President will recognize his divine appointment and
responsibility before You. Let him lead with wisdom and discernment, always
seeking to do what is right in Your sight.
Lord, I pray that he will govern with a heart that seeks after righteousness. Psalm
33:12 says, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord." Let this nation turn
back to You. Let its leader be an instrument in Your hands to bring about policies
that honor You and reflect Your truth. Remove ungodly influences from his
administration and replace them with individuals who will seek Your will above all
else.
I ask that You grant him supernatural endurance and strength. Leadership is
demanding, and the weight of responsibility can be overwhelming. Let him not
grow weary in doing good. Uphold him with Your righteous right hand, as Isaiah
41:10 promises, and give him the grace to lead with steadfastness and
resilience.
Lord, I pray for unity in this nation. Division, strife, and discord have taken root,
but You are a God of peace. Let the President be a peacemaker, working to bring
people together rather than tearing them apart. Give him wisdom to navigate the
complexities of governance, to bridge the gaps between opposing views, and to
establish policies that promote justice and equity for all people.
As he makes decisions concerning domestic and foreign affairs, let him seek
Your wisdom first. When challenges arise—whether economic, social, or
international—let him be led by Your Spirit. Guide him in matters of national
security, economic stability, healthcare, and justice. Let his leadership bring
about prosperity and well-being for this nation and its people.
Lord, I also pray for his spiritual life. If he does not know You personally, I ask
that You draw him into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. Let him have a
personal encounter with You that transforms his heart and mind like never
before. If he is already walking with You, strengthen his faith as you surround him
with believers who will encourage him, pray for him, and point him toward
righteousness.
Finally, Father, I thank You that You hear the prayers of Your people. Your Word
says in Jeremiah 33:3, "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great
and mighty things, which thou knowest not." I trust that You are working even
now in the heart and life of the President. May he be a leader who honors You,
governs with wisdom, and seeks the good of the people.
I declare that Your kingdom come, Your will be done in the United States as it is
in heaven. May this nation be a light to the world, a place where truth, justice, and
righteousness prevail. Bless the President, bless his family, and bless this land.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, I pray, Amen.
