A Statement of Faith: Why a Simple Creed Isn’t Enough

Summary:
I am often asked to provide a statement of faith for our ministry, and I used to have one posted on our church website and our utbnow.com website before it was merged into biblemysteriespodcast.com. Perhaps it was an oversight not to migrate it over, but I have placed a short statement of faith back on our Home page to assist those trying to learn more about us. However, I want to spend time today explaining why I do not believe a simple statement of faith is insufficient.

The Unlock the Bible Now ministry provides weekly Sunday Bible Studies to help you understand God's word and unlock the secrets found in the Bible.

Unlock the Bible Now, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping people unlock the secrets of the Bible and understand why the Bible is written in a mystery form. We teach there is an age-old spiritual battle between the Creator God and a group of rebellious angels led by Satan. The final phase of this battle began when God created Man to have dominion over the earth. Now, Satan and his angels want to take control of the planet and prevent God’s Son, Jesus Christ, from taking His rightful throne on the earth. Long ago, humanity joined Satan in his rebellion, but God deeply desires to save all who will trust Him. All truth and understanding hinge around God’s plan of redemption for mankind through His Son Jesus, and He hid the secrets in the Bible so that Satan will be defeated and His Redeemed can know the victorious outcome.

We teach people how to unlock the secrets in the Bible that the world doesn’t want them to know. Our passion is to be the best and most trusted resource for understanding Scripture for as many individuals as possible.

We believe and teach these truths:

Salvation: Salvation is a free gift without any work whatsoever. Forgiveness is available to all who believe that Christ died for their sins, was buried and rose again, and that God forgave us for Christ’s sake. If by Grace, it is no more work. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved from the coming wrath!

God’s Word: We believe that the King James Bible is God’s inspired and preserved Word without error in English, and we use this version in our studies and podcasts. It is our duty to be as the noble Bereans in the book of Acts and search the Scriptures daily with all readiness of mind.

Doctrine:Unlock the Bible Now, Inc. believes and holds fast to the fundamentals of the faith, such as the deity of Christ, the virgin birth, the blood atonement, and the divine inspiration of the Scriptures. We agree the best way to study Scripture is to rightly divide the Word of Truth according to 2 Timothy 2:15.We believe that following Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles, as he followed Christ, is our best example to demonstrate the Love of Christ and further His message of Grace.

Ministry: Our ministry is to preach the Gospel of the Grace of God whereby the lost will be saved and to teach the Word of God rightly divided so that saints will be edified. We have resources for all ages and believe teaching children the Word of God is essential. We believe in being a source of fellowship and Bible study, providing online opportunities for both.To that end, we provide the resources of Unlock the Bible Now Sunday messages and Bible Mysteries Podcast.

Takeaway:
We are happy to present a short synopsis of what we believe and why we do what we do at Unlock the Bible Now in a “statement of faith.” However, I would strongly encourage you not to judge any ministry by a simple statement. Put the work in! Don’t be lazy. Listen to the message and compare the Scriptures. Don’t rely on a sound bite, but try the spirits. God expects nothing less of each of us.
