Culver's helping dairy farmers

According to state officials, Wisconsin lost 429 dairy farms since the beginning of the year, the most since 2013. Now, Culver's CEO Joe Koss says the company wanted to let Wisconsin dairy farmers know they are thinking of them in this dairy crisis. On Monday, Culver's will launch an effort to send out 500 care packages to Wisconsin dairy farmers. The company encourages guests to visit their website and nominate a local farmer. The care package will be sent within 2 weeks of their nomination. Although farmers appreciate the gesture of a care package, they say the attention means more. "For them to step forward and to be so supportive of dairy farmers like that, it means a lot to me and it's creating awareness to everybody out there,” says Mark Peterson, the owner of Petersen Dairy. Petersen says he is thankful of the company's support of dairy farmers during this difficult time. Culver's says the care packages will include gift cards for farm families and their employees.
