Trump and Musk Slam Media’s ‘Divorce’ Narrative in Oval Office Interview Preview

D.C. (Dist. of Criminals), February 14, 2025 — President Donald Trump and DOGE chief Elon Musk pushed back against media attempts to drive a wedge between them, calling out pundits and journalists for trying to create a false rift in a preview of their upcoming Fox News interview with Sean Hannity.

Trump: ‘They Want a Divorce’

Fox News host Sean Hannity set the stage, telling Trump and Musk:

“They want a divorce. They want you two to start hating each other.”

Trump agreed, confirming that Musk had already warned him about the media’s effort to manufacture division.

“Actually, Elon called me and said, ‘You know, they’re trying to drive us apart.’ I said, ‘Absolutely,’” Trump revealed.

Trump Mocks Media’s Manufactured Feud
Trump, speaking in his signature news-anchor cadence, mocked the media’s absurd narratives, parodying their headlines:

“Breaking News: Donald Trump has ceded control of the presidency to Elon Musk. President Musk will be attending a cabinet meeting tonight at 8:00,” he joked.

The 47th president noted that while he once thought the media was skilled at deception, their transparency has become laughable.

“I used to think they were good at it,” Trump said. “They’re actually bad at it. Because if they were good at it, I’d never be president.”

‘The People Get It’

Trump and Musk both agreed that Americans are seeing through the media’s games, with Trump emphasizing:

“You know what I have learned, Elon? The people are smart. They get it.”

Musk nodded, adding, “Yeah, they do, actually.”

The full Trump-Musk interview—filmed in the Oval Office—will air Tuesday, February 18, at 9 p.m. ET on Fox News.
