Acheron’s Lament

The oar cuts deep through waters black,
No way forward, no way back.
The ferryman speaks, but I hear no sound,
Only the echoes of life left drowned.

A silver coin for a broken soul,
Drifting slow where the lost ones go.
No sun, no stars, no morning light,
Only the hush of endless night.

Oh, Acheron, carry me far,
Through waves that whisper who we are.
I reach for shore, but fade instead,
A shadow bound among the dead.

Reflections dance on waters cold,
Memories flicker, then grow old.
A lover’s voice, a mother's plea,
All lost beneath this silent sea.

No screams remain, no tears to weep,
Just hollow hearts the river keeps.
No turning back, no second breath,
Only the arms of waiting death.

Oh, Acheron, carry me far,
Through waves that whisper who we are.
I reach for shore, but fade instead,
A shadow bound among the dead.

If I could cry, would the river rise?
Would it break the chains, would it cleanse the lies?
But silence lingers, cold and wide,
As I dissolve into the tide.

The oar cuts deep through waters black,
No way forward, no way back.
No voice, no name, no prayers to send,
Only the river… without end
