On Tuesday, February 11th, at approximately 9:30 p.m., emergency services responded to a vehicle fire at the intersection of Summerhill Place and Dufferin Crescent in Nanaimo, BC. The vehicle, identified as a Fiat 500, sustained damage to the passenger side, with a burned rear tire and door.

The car reportedly belonged to Gwen, a former MLA who has been vocal about concerns related to SOGI (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity) policies in schools and other related issues. Some believe this act of violence was politically motivated, particularly given the increasing threats against those who criticize these policies.

Several individuals, including public figures, have reported receiving death threats and violent rhetoric from radical activists. Some claim that extremist groups, sometimes referred to as "Trantifa," have openly threatened to set homes on fire and physically assault individuals who speak out on these issues.

In a related case, Clare and O’Mahony—who recently gave an interview to Rebel Media—reported receiving death threats after their discussion aired. According to a Facebook post, Clare stated:

"The very same day I was told to ‘live looking over [my] shoulder’ by a radical trans activist on the Island."

These incidents raise serious concerns about politically motivated violence and intimidation. Many are questioning where law enforcement and the Hate Crimes Unit are in addressing these threats. Critics argue that if the situation were reversed, with activists being targeted instead, there would be immediate action.

The question remains: Will authorities investigate these threats and acts of violence with the seriousness they deserve?
