In Buddhism, it's very important that we open our hearts.

Opening our hearts means giving rise to vast aspirations, vast wishes for happiness for all beings.

This is the opposite of wishing happiness for oneself, being self-centered, being selfish, being caught up in our own lives.

We begin by understanding that yes, just as we want happiness, just as we want peace, just as we want to feel content and satisfied, so does everyone else.

Everyone else has the exact same wishes for themselves.

It's a great leap, a great act of kindness to open oneself up and extend this heartfelt wish that all beings can have happiness, peace, contentment, and satisfaction.

This is our journey.

This is our mission.

This is our practice.

It's a beautiful way to live.
