Instead of following a Justice Department directive to drop corruption charges against NYC Mayor Adams, Manhattan's top federal prosecutor resigned on Thursday.

A representative for the office verified Danielle Sassoon's resignation.
Days after a top-level Justice Department official ordered New York prosecutors to withdraw the case against Adams, she resigned.

Andrew Craft of LiveNOW discussed Sassoon's resignation with Neama Rahmani, a former federal prosecutor.

In a document on Monday, Acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove recommended that the case be dropped so that Adams, a Democrat, could support President Donald Trump's reelection campaign and immigration crackdown.
