Cloven: The Power and The Resonance

What I do is this. As soon as I wake up, I prepare myself with a normal morning routine, and then I sit down and write a story about whatever comes to mind. More often than not, it is a surprise. It is told that the head of the staff is the knuckle to a long talon of an ancient dragon. The length is 6 feet. It once rose to from the ground to rest beneath the eye of a Wizard who protected a realm. He named his staff, Cloven, due to the appearance of the gnarly knuckle. It was of three, as a hoof.

After a great war, when the Wizard gave his life in victory, in defense of his people, the great explosion that ended him, expelled his staff hurtling it into the sky. Tempered by the fiery blast, it circled the Earth for an Age in the nether region of the sky. As it hovered there, it twisted, and turned under the solar storms and winds. Finally, during a great earthly cycle cataclysm, the wave of force loosed it from its loft, and it fell to the graven depths of a freezing arctic lake.

It was found by, and then became the divining tool for a creature of the sea. Of the ones who hide and sail in unseen frequencies, unknown to men. For another age it served well, only to be stolen by a rival and sent to the surface.

After finally washing ashore, it is now wielded in earthly elements, with great effectiveness, by one who burrows and seeks within the inner space. There comes the times when this hermit Wizard will bring this strength to strike the ground with great power, and the resonance carries through all of its time, and returns with the most stern resolve.

The imprint left, indelible and pure. No force can disturb this permanence. If there be a target, may God help them. There is no reversal to this sounding.

To the Dragon, to the Wizard, to the nether sky of solar weather, to the freezing depths, to those of an unseen realm. Then, to resound on this ground of Earth, once more.
