In 1961, the Soviet Union conducted a high-altitude rocket test involving animals, including mice and dogs. One notable test was the launch of Sputnik 9 on March 9, 1961. This mission included a mannequin named Ivan Ivanovich, a dog named Chernushka, reptiles, 80 mice, and guinea pigs. The test aimed to assess the dangers of spaceflight and reentry. The capsule successfully parachuted back to the ground, and all the animals FORTUNATELY were unharmed.
