Did you hear the one about President Trump “fell down” amidst “loud noises”? Sounds like the beginning of a bad joke, right? But that’s exactly how the media initially framed the assassination attempt on President Trump. As videos and eyewitness accounts began to surface, it became clear Trump was not, in fact, having a senile moment. But of course reporters already knew that. Numerous eyewitness accounts tell us that those in attendance knew what had happened even as it was happening. That includes the journalists who were there. We’re even hearing now that multiple people say they spotted the gunman and tried to alert the Secret Service and police long before any shots were fired. And yet the initial reports were those of “popping sounds,” “loud noises,” and “falling down.” Why? Because controlling the manipulation is what they do.

Remember Project Mockingbird? It was the covert CIA operation from the late 1940s aimed at using the media to promote the government’s agenda; where journalists were recruited to become mouthpieces for propaganda against the American people. Once dismissed as some fringe “conspiracy theory,” we now know it was an official effort to control public perception. This manipulation of truth goes way beyond Trump, although it certainly applies. It stretches back as far as their have been governments and forms of media.

The history of government deception is long and sordid—so long and sordid in fact. Here are a few examples that will make you start to question everything you thought you knew:

MK-Ultra: The CIA mind control program where they experimented on unsuspecting citizens with drugs and psychological torture.

Operation Northwoods: The U.S. government proposed a plan of staging false flag terrorist attacks on American soil to justify a war against Cuba. Yes, they actually wanted to kill Americans to justify going to war.

Oh, and by the way, a few months after JFK sent McNamara out of his office, horrified that he’d suggested such a thing, he took off for his trip to Dallas…

Nothing to see here.

The Tuskegee Syphilis Study: The government-backed medical experiment where African American men were deliberately left untreated for syphilis to study the disease’s progression, all under the guise of free healthcare.

These are just a few of the true stories that detail the evil things our government has done to us. They show us just how far those in power will go to control the narrative and keep us in the dark.

The media’s handling of Trump’s assassination attempt is just the latest chapter in this ongoing saga of deceit and manipulation. Thankfully, we live in an era of handheld streaming devices and free-speech platforms like X that give us information that can’t easily be manipulated by the powers-that-be. Yet. So, what do we do when we know they’re lying? The key to protecting ourselves and our freedoms is to stay informed and to stay skeptical. That’s why resources like The Tuttle Twins Guide to True Conspiracies are so important. They help us understand historical truths that the government would rather keep hidden. They arm us with the knowledge to see through the lies and distortions.

More importantly, they help us view current events through the lens of historical truth—making it harder for us to be manipulated by the same old, tried and true methods. If you haven’t grabbed a copy yet, now is the time. It’s time to equip yourself and your family with the truth. We simply can’t afford to settle for the “official story” just because it’s convenient. Being well-informed and questioning the official narratives isn’t something that crazy conspiracy theorists do; it’s what regular people who care about safeguarding their freedoms and ensuring that we’re not being led astray do. Knowledge is power, and in times like these, it’s often the only power we have.
