This song is dedicated to little known singer Nikki McKibbin. Nikki was the 2nd runner up to Kelli Clarkson on the first season of American Idol. At the conclusion of that season, Nikki signed with 19 Management and RCA Records, who urged her to record a country album. McKibbin wanted to stay true to her rock and roll roots, so she rejected the idea, saying she felt she would be selling out if she went country. I admired her rebel spirit, and her determination to stay true to her nature. Sadly Nikki passed away on November 1, 2020 of a brain aneurysm. She was only 42 years old - the same age as another rock star - Elvis Presley, who, in the beginning, was also a rebel. Rest in peace Nikki (A true Rebel Rocker).
