Protect Stanley Park

Members of the Stanley Park Preservation Society held a news conference on Tuesday, February 11th at 3:30 PM on the steps of the Vancouver Law Courts.

The Stanley Park Preservation society and four citizens have filed a petition in the Supreme Court of British Columbia seeking judicial review of a logging operation being conducted by the City of Vancouver and its contractor B.A. Blackwell
& Associates which began in late 2023 and is scheduled to continue into at least 2027, resulting in the removal of tens of thousands of trees from Stanley Park. The Petitioners seek to halt removal of trees which have not been properly documented to be hazardous, which they allege comprise most of the trees being removed.
