Pet of the Week: Mary Ann at Lee County Animal Control

Meet Mary Ann, an affectionate and curious 2- to 3-year-old mixed-breed that loves to cuddle up on the couch. She is playful when it’s play time, but very calm when it’s time to relax.

Mary Ann is good with other dogs, but cats are unknown. She and another dog, Ginger, came to Lee County Animal Control as strays and they are both looking for “fur-ever” homes. Mary Ann is a happy dog, is house-trained, spayed and up to date on vaccinations.

If you can’t adopt but would like to help, guest Brandi Barkowski suggested donations to the county’s spay and neuter program. Barkowski said intakes are up and adoptions are down, and all shelters are at or near capacity. For more information on making a donation, call 815-284-3833. Donations directly to neighbors for spaying or neutering, or generally caring for, pets are also encouraged.
