Ron DeSantis: "I truly believe in the power of prayer. And it's, you know, you get a certain feeling. It's a kind of calmness, knowing that, ultimately, we are in this world, but we are not of this world.

And every day, when you're in this political thicket, they throw things at you, they attack you, all of it trying to divert you, to pull you away from that true north. And I think being able to pray, being able to be in touch with the Lord, gives you a way to understand that none of that really matters. None of it matters.

I can also tell you that in the trials and tribulations we've faced, when my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021, at that time, we had a four-year-old, a three-year-old, and a one-year-old. That kind of diagnosis is hard for anyone, but especially for a mother with such young children.

Being in a situation where she might not make it and those children could grow up without a mother is a huge shock when it happens. It was really tough for us to receive that news. But I'll tell you this—people who prayed for us during those weeks and months had a tremendous impact and truly lifted my wife's spirits.

She had to go through very, very difficult things, but she managed to overcome them. I, of course, as her husband and the father of our children, was there to support her. And she came out of it, I would say, even stronger now. She would never wish for anyone to go through that, but I think she would tell you that she is stronger as a result of having endured it."
