I Reasoned At First That It Was The Time Spent In The Forest, Communing With Nature And People With Whom I Have Formed Significant Bonds. As Well As Much Needed Time Alone. It Made Sense Then, That The Litter, The Acrid Odour Of Urine, The Permanent Hum With An Intermittent Buzz, The Whirl Of Traffic Noise And The Disordered Energy, The Fully Stretched Working People, Their Potential Unrealised, Not Fully Utilised, Trapped. And The Numerous Lifeless Beings Within Functioning Moving Parts, Without Consciousness, Garments Soiled With Faeces. The Phlegm And Ejecta Ridden Streets, Felt……Unbearable. But This Surely Was Normal, Usual. I'd Been Away, And So This Was The Consequence, I Told Myself. I Would Readjust In A Day Or Two. But I DIDN'T. Before Long I Was Surrounded By 'FOR SALE' Property Boards On Every Street That I Walked Along. Neighbours That Were Part Of The Fabric Of The Community Are Leaving In Their Droves. Even The Old Guards Of Streets I'd Once Lived On, Have Also Recently Departed. And Though Both Groups Are Dissimilar, They Echoed The Same Sentiment "Had Enough. I'm Off", Or "Had Enough. It's Too Much Now. We're Off!" It Is Indeed. And What Will Remain?
