Joseph urges us to rend our hearts and not our garments because God is ready to break the institutions within us that make His word ineffective. He emphasizes that we are not called to be simply nice as Christians, but to be good people who boldly stand against wickedness. He recalls the brave actions of John the Baptist, who called out Herod for taking his brother’s wife. He also reminds us of God’s word in Matthew 16:25, which warns that whoever seeks to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for His sake will find it. When we surrender to God, we begin to experience the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Joseph further explains that when we know who we are in Christ Jesus, we can stand against every demonic influence and wickedness in our culture. Jesus has informed us that we will face trouble in this world, but He encouraged us to take heart because He has overcome the world. Additionally, the Book of 1 John 4:17 reassures us of the perfection of God’s love in our lives; as He is, so are we in this world. Joseph assures us that the same power that raised Christ Jesus from the dead dwells within us, and we are expected to rise and stand against the wicked culture by faith.
