The 2019 1 OZ Royal Arms Gold Coin is a redesign of an iconic design by Eric Sewell. This reimagined version has been produced by Tim Noad for this Royal Mint coin.
This design is a depiction of the Royal Arms, which is a majestic symbol of strength and a signal of monarchy and heraldry in the United Kingdom, hailing back to Plantaganet England.

The obverse showcases Queen Elizabeth II. Additionally, there are the inscriptions “100 POUNDS,” “ELIZABETH II” “D.G. REG. F.D.” and a gorgeous guilloche design.
The reverse features the current design of the Royal Arms by Timothy Noad. The shield is divided into four quadrants. Two of those quadrants shows three strong lions on guard. Another quadrant has a rampant lion and double tressure representing Scotland. The final quadrant features a majestical harp representing Ireland. A beautiful crowned English lion and a unicorn from Scotland standing on the sides of that shield. Additionally, you’ll find a leak of Wales and a Garter Circlet. The reverse also contains the year and “1 oz FINE GOLD 999.9.”
