The Federal Reserve Needs to Go

There’s been some talk on X about Ron Paul potentially auditing the Federal Reserve. Personally, I would like to completely abolish the Federal Reserve, but I will certainly settle for an audit since that’s probably the best we’re gonna get. See, my personal politics primarily revolve around wanting America to get out of pointless forever wars that bankrupt our taxpayers and often end in hundreds of thousands if not millions of innocent people dead. We’ve been involved in these essentially since Vietnam and it’s hard to find even one that didn’t end as a complete worthless quagmire disaster. And it’s no coincidence that the century in which central banking became pervasive was a century filled with nonstop war. What many people don’t realize is that the existence of the Fed in and of itself enables America’s ability to continue engaging in these forever wars, because without a limitless money printer, as Dr. Ron Paul notes, “If every American taxpayer had to submit an extra five or ten thousand dollars to the IRS this April to pay for the war, I’m quite certain it would end very quickly. The problem is that government finances war by borrowing and printing money, rather than presenting a bill directly in the form of higher taxes. When the costs are obscured, the question of whether any war is worth it becomes distorted.” Beautifully well said as always from Dr. Paul; in many ways, the federal reserve is the head of the hydra that enables so much of the worst behavior that happens in government, which is why I believe it should end today and ideally yesterday.
