VALVE Bans Games on STEAM that Force Ads on Players

Valve is changing their policy for games listed on Steam where they’re not allowed to have advertisements that interferes with people playing.

This move by the PC gaming platform is intended to prevent them from basically turning into what mobile games have become. This is a good sign for gamers, but will force PC game developers from finding other ways to monetize their games. Some AAA studios have tossed around the idea of incorporating advertisements into their games organically. So long as this is stuff like product placement it will be acceptable under these new terms.
