Trump Responds to Clinton: 'I Guess That's Why She Lost, She Doesn't Get It, She Never Did'

President Donald Trump responded Tuesday to his former opponent Hillary Clinton's recent criticism concerning Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Clinton criticized Trump on Tuesday for holding a ceremonial swearing in for the newly confirmed justice the night prior.

"What was done last night in the White House was a political rally. It further undermined the image and integrity of the court," Clinton said, "and that troubles me greatly. It saddens me because our judicial system has been viewed as one of the main pillars of our constitutional government."

A reporter, during a press availability in the Oval Office, asked Trump about Clinton's comments.

"What's your response to Hillary Clinton saying last night's swearing in of Judge Kavanaugh was more a political event than a national event?" the reporter asked.

"I guess that's why she lost. She doesn't get it; she never did," Trump responded. "I knew that a long time ago. Hillary never got it. That's why she lost."

Kavanaugh is Trump's second Supreme Court pick to be confirmed and his 69th successful appointment to the federal bench. The vote comes after a long and bitter confirmation process, in which Kavanaugh was accused of multiple instances of sexual misconduct and assault when he was in high school and college. Kavanaugh denied the allegations.
