A father's vision of his son

This scene from Twin Peaks (2.1.) is a favourite of many, and no wonder: It is the message every son - and daughter too - long to hear from their father. A father's faith in your being is the best support through life; and in Bobby's case, it becomes a turning point in his life. He has been encased in a shell of aggression and bitterness since the relationship with Laura, and the revelation to him of her demons, shook him to the core. He probably lost his own vision of himself through that trauma... but being seen by his father on a spiritual level beyond all misery, in spite of their own conflicted relationship, heals something in his soul.
