CATANIA: SAINT AGATA RELIGIOUS FEAST

The Feast of Saint Agatha is the most important religious celebration in Catania, dedicated to the city's patron saint. It takes place every year from February 3rd to 5th, attracting thousands of devotees and tourists. The highlight of the festival is the solemn procession of the fercolo, carrying the saint's relics through the city's streets, accompanied by prayers, chants, and spectacular fireworks. The event blends faith and tradition, featuring religious ceremonies, pyrotechnic displays, and the participation of many "devoti" dressed in the traditional white "sacco" tunic. It is one of the largest religious festivals in the world.
