Life, as we understand it, is merely a shadow play of something far greater. It flickers, it dances, and yet, there is an underlying reality so vast that to touch it is to be transformed. On today’s episode, we welcome Dean Braxton, a man who walked beyond the veil, leaving behind the limitations of flesh and time, only to return with a revelation so profound that it challenges everything we think we know.

According to medical records, Dean Braxton was dead. Not just for a moment, but for a long time. His body had succumbed to sepsis after a medical procedure, his lungs failing as his spirit departed. And yet, in that moment, he felt no fear—only peace, only joy. He describes his departure not as a loss, but as a homecoming. “The second thing that really hit me was it wasn’t that my body died and my spirit left—it was my spirit left and then my body died.”

In an instant, he was moving, faster than light itself, drawn into a realm bathed in luminous, living radiance. Unlike the cold and impersonal glow of a distant sun, this light embraced him, permeating every fiber of his being. And in that light, everything was right. Not right in the moralistic sense, but in the truest, most natural way—an alignment with the very fabric of existence. We were never made for chaos, he realized. That gnawing sense that things are not as they should be? It is because we were designed for something else, something far more beautiful.

The moment he arrived, one desire overwhelmed all others: to see Jesus. And as he moved through a path that seemed to open just for him, nature itself rejoiced. The trees whispered his purpose, the flowers sang his arrival. “He’s going to see the King,” they declared. And there He was. Not just an image, not just a story, but a presence so real that to look upon Him was to be undone by love itself.

At first, he could do nothing but kneel. And in that posture of surrender, gratitude spilled forth in waves. “You did this for me,” he said, over and over. He saw that his deeds, whether good or bad, had not been the determining factor in his arrival—it was only the unfathomable grace of the One before him. Love flowed from every part of Jesus, even His feet, as if every atom of His being existed to embrace and restore.

And yet, in this ecstasy, he was given a command. “No, it’s not your time. Go back.” A simple sentence, yet weighty with purpose. There was still more to do, still more to share. And as he traveled back, he beheld the vastness of Heaven, the way everything, even the water, was alive and rejoicing. The very ground hummed with the presence of the Divine. Yet, despite its majesty, he was sent home—to tell the world what he had seen.

Back in his hospital bed, his body was broken, but his spirit was ablaze. Against all odds, he recovered. And the first words from his lips, once he could speak again, were not of pain or confusion, but of certainty: “You know there’s a Jesus. You don’t have to hope. You don’t have to wish. There is a Jesus.”
