.sLICE OF LIFE
I was in SE Honduras near the Rio Coco. Wife and I were in church service under a teak and bamboo structure.

The benches were made of two uprights, one on either end, for legs and two pieces of fairly straight limbs of a tree for seating.

At least it was a place to sit down. There was an inherent flaw in the design of the benches; besides not having a back.

While sitting on the two round slats, for the seating. If someone else, sharing the bench seat were to move, only a small amount. The two curved slates would move ever so slightly creating a loss in gap at exactly where I was sitting.

The result being, a pinch on a inch of flesh, that protrudes near the gluteus maximus.

I was glad to get to sing a rendition of “He Lives.

At the of the last chorus I drew out “You ask me how I know He Lives Within My Heart.”

People do not clap. We’re not there to entertain the people but to glorify God in the midst of the people.

An interpreter said to me. “We don’t know what he said; but he said it with gusto.”

I was surprised, not surprised.

That was the trip we slept on top of a cache of grenadines eight boxed high and 40 boxes long. If we had been attacked by Sandinista soldiers we would have gone up in pieces with the the lot.

Our children and families back home would have never known what had happened to us. Another group of do-gooders gone missing in Central America.

But I’m glad to report to you today.
