Oak Hill Church of Christ 2-9-25 Lesson: "Your Best Days Are For The Taking"

Oak Hill Church of Christ preaching minister, Randy Sterling, delivers a message on the importance of staying focused on God's goals and God's deliverance.

When we experience setbacks and struggles, we often feel a desire to withdraw and retreat. When tragedy strikes, we draw a smaller circle around what remains. When failure comes, we fall back, seeking a memory of past success to ease our minds.

God has a different approach. God rests after He has finished His work. God does not rest when His people experience a setback. Moses, one of the most important figures of the Old Testament, the giver of the Law, the one who walked with his people, leading them through the wilderness for a generation, finally passed away.

You might expect God to order a year of national mourning, to fly all the flags at half mast, to fast, to take no action until the time of grieving had passed. However, that was not God's direction. Instead, He immediately chose the people's new leader and ordered them to enter the promised land on schedule.

Our lives may be very similar. We all experience hardship, and sometimes, that hardship might be causing us to turn away from our entry into the promised land on God's schedule. God's spiritual message to His children is not to stop when things get tough, but to persevere. When we continue forward in spite of challenges, we show that we place our trust in God to deliver us.

This week, consider growing your faith by striking out on a continued journey toward the promised land God has been guiding you to through Christ. When it comes to God's plans, He's left no time for worry about failure; instead, He's given all that time to victory.
