Elon Musk’s DOGE team is leading the charge to shut down US-AID, a $50 billion-a-year government agency with vast foreign policy influence and less-clear domestic implications like its subsidies to American agribusiness. US-AID sends aid to Ukraine, tries to broker peace in Somalia, tracks diseases in Cambodia, leads vaccination efforts in Nigeria, fights H.I.V. in Uganda and provides maternal health assistance in Zambia, among a wide range of other programs. Democrats warn that shutting down US-AID will reduce American influence. This, as it's revealed that billions of dollars were spent on so-called "independent media" around the world.

The TMI Show’s Manila Chan and Robby West (filling in for Ted Rall) ask: What does the Agency for International Development do and what will be the pros and cons of the ramifications of its disappearance?
