Crow and Scrub Jay join the Party

It was very exciting to see a crow and a scrub jay flying in for some food. We do not have the pleasure of seeing them very often. The scrub jays used to dominate the backyard birds, however they disappeared for a couple years. I thought it might be that the magpies have taken over. Nonetheless, it was great to see one again!

Even though the crows are bigger than the magpies, they tend to be a bit shy, so we do not see them often enough, to be sure. So glad one came around and exhibited his preference for dry cat food over sunflower seeds. Nice!
