Over 2.6 million K-12 students in NY are at risk of losing critical federal funding. New York Governor Kathy Hochul is asking New York State Republican members of Congress to support the allocation of federal funds for K-12 student meals in New York State. This funding is $5.5 billion annually. If the money is not provided by the feds, then local governments will have to raise taxes. That's what the governor thinks.

"I want to know where New York State Republican members of Congress are on this issue. Where are you? Where are you? You are elected to represent the people who are going to be adversely affected, especially our children. And if you can't speak up for them, then get out of your job and go do something else. We need your help",Governor Hochul said at Press Briefing.
