Popes: Pius III #213, VRP Catholic History.
Pope Pius III, born Francesco Todeschini Piccolomini in 1439, became pope in 1503 following the death of Pope Alexander VI. His papacy, lasting only 26 days, was cut short by his declining health, but he sought to continue reforms and promote peace within the Church. Although his brief reign is not remembered for significant events, some controversy surrounded his election due to his ties with the powerful Piccolomini family, raising concerns about potential nepotism in the selection process.
