𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐉𝐞𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐦: 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐞’𝐬 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐅𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦

I just finished two interviews. One with Ryan who lives in London, the birthplace of poisonous manufacturing and the other with Molly near the Great Lakes in the US, “ground zero,” as she put it, for the same.

I often talk about the culture of poison and “poison colonialism.” I have been noticing it in the beautiful and largely untouched island of Jamaica where I have a home. The children there are starting to show up with autism. But it looks like a change a-gonna come. I sure hope so.

Here is a poem by William Blake about his faith and the Industrial Revolution. It was a favorite hymn for the girls at my boarding school. The choir mistress didn’t like it because she thought we shouldn’t be talking about England when we live in the US. But this poisonous imperialism started there and it has been metastacizing and spreading far and wide ever since.

And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon Englands mountains green:
And was the holy Lamb of God,
On Englands pleasant pastures seen!

And did the Countenance Divine,
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here,
Among these dark Satanic Mills?

Bring me my Bow of burning gold:
Bring me my arrows of desire:
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my Chariot of fire!

I will not cease from Mental Fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand:
Till we have built Jerusalem,
In Englands green & pleasant Land.
