NYT "Umbrella Man" Hoax

Obviously there for some other purpose than to shoot a James Bond gun from his umbrella: to block visibility to the knoll from the car or someone on the ground, to signal to one of the shooters or other operators, something like that.

I don't believe that's really the same guy nor the story about the Nevil Chamberlin & JoeKennedy, although the umbrella support for Bay of Pigs would fit. I don't see them putting someone like that on the scene without some kind of operational purpose, and he was photographed with one of the operators (supposedly one of them).
