Backlit homes are one of the biggest challenges for real estate photographers. That bright sun behind your subject can wash out the sky, push shadows too deep, and make it difficult to capture a well-balanced image.

As we move into winter, with the sun lower on the horizon and shorter daylight hours, backlit conditions become even more common. While there are some tricks to mitigate these challenges during the shoot, the biggest fixes will happen in post-processing.
