Plants vs Zombies 2 - Plant of the Week - Zoybean Pod - February 2025

Plant of the Week - Zoybean Pod - was offered between February 8, 2025 through February 15, 2025.

Zoybean Pod is a member of the Enchant-Mint family.
Zoybean Pod costs 200 Sun. (-25 Sun at levels 3, 5 and 10.)
Every 18 seconds, a Tofu zombie will emerge from Zoybean Pod. (-1 second on levels 3, 4, 7, 8 and 10.)
This Tofu zombie will be a Lettucehead at levels 1-3, a Carrothead at levels 3-7 and a Melonhead at levels 8-10.)
Giving a Zoybean Pod plant food will instantly create a Gargantuar zombie which will smash other zombies with a celery club.

Commentary:
We so love this plant. It's cute and it is a different type of plant - where instead of burning or freezing or shooting zombies, you simply create an army of zombies and go from there. Let's be realistic, isn't it fun to see an army of Gargantaurs heading towards Zomboss instread of the other way around?

Bottom line:
As much as we love Zoybean Pod, we can not let our affection for this plant deter our ratings. When Zoybean debuted, the tofu zombies barely scratched the other zombies and were essentially walking speed bumps.

It appears that a buff was applied to them so that they are a little more meaty. (OK, bad joke.) They do last a little longer and can be viable in the right situations.

That being said, you still need lots of plant food and/or power tiles to have a Zoybean strategy be mostly viable.

Bottom line - it's a cool plant. It's even a viable Tier B strategy given the right circumstances.
