Unreal 5.5 VR Tutorial for Beginners: Episode 7: Quick & Easy Monster: Free Assets & Animations

Sorry it's been awhile. I've rethought my game and switched to a Cthulhu theme. And updated to UE 5.5. This video explores using a site called Meshy.ai to generate props and characters (all free). You can then animate the character in Mixamo, another free site. As far as I know, you can use those assets in a commercial game, but do your own research. I decided to use whichever monster I chose first. He had a few issues, which ideally would be fixed in Blender for a proper game character. Oh yeah, and I figured out after making the video that the "holes in his face" are supposed to be an open mouth, like a Venom type monster. Derp.

I'm returning to Unreal Engine after some time in Unity, and recording a video series while working on this VR Project. Hopefully in the future I can refer to this video series to acclimate more quickly when moving back and forth between engines. So, if you're new to Unreal for Virtual Reality, join me as I re-learn everything! Things are changing fast these days, and AI tools are becoming available. These videos are made to be friendly for beginners. Feel free to ask questions or leave comments.
