Giuliano della Rovere (Julius II) is known as the "Warrior Pope." He was a vigorous advocate for the Papal States, leading military campaigns to reclaim and defend papal territories. His papacy was marked by significant cultural patronage, including commissioning Michelangelo to paint the Sistine Chapel ceiling and Raphael's frescoes in the Vatican. His involvement in secular politics was marked by a strong opposition to the emerging Protestant Reformation.
