New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 78 runs in the 1st ODI of Tri -Series.

Pakistan vs New Zealand 1st ODI at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore Dt:- 8th February, 2025.
New Zealand Captain Mitchell Santar won the toss and opted to bat first. The batters backed the captain's decision by scoring 330 runs for 6 wickets in 50 overs.
New Zealand lost two early wickets at the score of 39 runs. Will Young made 4 runs and Rachin Ravindra scored 25 runs.
Then Kane Williamson added 95 runs for the 3rd wicket with Daryl Mitchell. Kane Williamson scored 58 runs and Daryl Mitchell contributed 81 runs.
Tom Latham went back to Pavillion with out scoring caught by Kamran Ghulam of the bowling of Haris Rauf.
The highlight of the innings was the maiden ODI century 106 runs not out from Glenn Philips which include 6 fours and 7 sixes.
Michael Bracewell contributed 31 runs from 23 balls hitting 1 four and 3 sixes. Santar also remained not out on 8 runs from 5 balls.
Glen Phillips added 65 runs with Daryl Mitchell for 5th wicket, 54 runs with Michael Bracewell for 6th wicket and unbeaten 76 runs from 27 balls only with Mitchell Santar.
Shaheen Afridi took 3 wickets but conceded 88 runs, Naseem Shah gave 70 runs with out any wicket. Abrar Ahmed took 2 wickets and one wicket went to Haris Rauf.
Pakistan in reply could manage to score only 252 runs in 47.5 overs and lost the match by 78 runs.
Only Fakhar Zaman played well for his 84 runs from 69 balls hitting 7 fours and 4 sixes.
Salman Agha made 40 runs, Tayyab Tahir made 30 runs..
Matt Henry and Mitchell Santar took 3 wickets each, Two wickets were taken by Mitchell Bracewell and one wicket was taken by Glen Phillips. Haris Rauf was out absent hurt due to injury.
