The majority of the film in its current state should be comprehensible
and appeal to English-speaking audiences. However, If anybody would like to participate and knows how to insert/submit English subtitles wherever needed, on the YouTube features, it would certainly be welcome.

"Lockerbie Revisited" is a 52-minute episode of the Dutch VPRO documentary television series Backlight (Dutch: Tegenlicht) which was broadcast in the Netherlands on the eve of Abdelbaset al-Megrahi's second appeal against conviction that started at the High Court of Justiciary in Edinburgh on 28 April 2009. The film's director, Gideon Levy, narrates in Dutch and conducts interviews in English with retired FBI officer Richard Marquise, Detective Chief Superintendent Stuart Henderson of the Scottish police, ex-FBI laboratory official Thomas Thurman, UN Observer at the Lockerbie trial Hans Köchler, author and journalist Ian Ferguson, former CIA agent Robert Baer, ex-FBI laboratory scientist Fred Whitehurst and former Lord Advocate Lord Fraser of Carmyllie. Plus interviews with Dr. Jim Swire and Professor Robert Black.

This episode focuses on the investigation into the Lockerbie attack. On December 21, 1988, a Pan Am aircraft exploded over Scottish Lockerbie, killing 270 people. Between 2000 and 2002, the Lockerbie lawsuit was held in Kamp Zeist (under Scottish law), where a Libyan was found guilty. The case is being reopened because of potentially manipulated evidence. Gideon Levy interviews key investigators of the attack in the United States.

"The Libyan man convicted of the 1988 attack over Lockerbie that killed 259 occupants is on appeal for allegedly messing with evidence. However, the reopening of this lawsuit goes beyond the possible innocence of the Libyan. It is about how the FBI, CIA and Scottish police worked together to solve the biggest terror case ever in Europe. Did everything run correctly? Gideon Levy did research for Tegenlicht and concluded that there are very good reasons to reopen the case.
A Scottish independent commission of inquiry, after nearly four years of investigation, concluded that evidence may have been tampered with and referred the matter back to court.

The Lockerbie case, like the assassination of President Kennedy, the death of Princess Diana and the attack on the Twin Towers, is surrounded by conspiracy theories, political intrigue and secrets. On April 27, the Libyan Abdel Bassed Al Megrahi, who has been convicted of the attack over Lockerbie, will receive a second appeal. The man has always claimed to be innocent.

This opens a new chapter in the Lockerbie 'saga', which has now lasted for more than twenty years. It started on December 21, 1988, when a Pan Am plane was blown up above the Scottish sleeping town of Lockerbie. 270 people lost their lives. The first lawsuit, which was held in the Netherlands at the time, but which took place under Scottish law, was enormous, as was the investigation.

In 2005 director Gideon Levy made a film for Tegenlicht about the relatives of the Lockerbie disaster. Since then, this case has never left him. This is mainly due to the Scottish investigative journalist Ian Ferguson, who has been following the case closely for years. Ferguson is convinced that evidence has been tampered with, but he does not yet have conclusive evidence. Seized by Ferguson's stories, Levy once again tries to gain clarity in this matter and delves into the world of international terrorism. Soon, he finds himself in a surreal situation where key investigators from the FBI, the Scottish police and the CIA contradict each other. Levy is increasingly believing that everything went wrong in the investigation of the attack." https://web.archive.org/web/20110429074432/http://reload1.vpro.nl/programma/tegenlicht/afleveringen/41867169/
